We modern day preachers stress the ease of becoming a Christian, but is what we present as truth the real truth? TRUTH IS DISCOVERED, NOT INVENTED! The Lord Jesus never tried to coax men into a glib profession of faith. Neither did He seek to attract a large following by preaching a popular message. In fact, whenever people began to swarm after Him, He would turn to them and sift them by setting forth the sternest terms of discipleship.
How many people would come to an alter call for salvation if the preacher said the words of Jesus: “So likewise, whosoever he be of you that does not foresake all that he has, cannot be My disciple.” Luke 14:33.
The cost of true salvation is “everything” — all a person has or is.
The terms for entering the kingdom of God is to “repent” from the old self-centered life in the kingdom of darkness, die to your old life through water baptism, rise up out of the baptismal waters and receive the life (zoe) of God by the Holy Spirit, be “born again” into a new creation in Him, and begin a new life of commitment and obedience to King Jesus.
Anything less than this is not salvation according to the Scriptures.
Give me your thoughts on this.
The life of discipleship as taught by Jesus and outlined in this blog site is a supernatural life. We do don have the power within ourselves to live it. We need divine power. Only when we are born again do we receive the divine enablement to live as Jesus taught.
True Christianity is an all-out commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is not looking for men and women who will give their spare evenings to Him — or their weekends — or their years of retirement. Rather, He seeks those who will give Him first place in their lives.
Nothing less than unconditional surrender could ever be a fitting response to His sacrifice at Calvary.
The Lord Jesus made stringent demands on those who would be His disciples–demands that are all but overlooked in this day of luxury-living. Too oftern we look upon Christianity as an escape from hell and a guarantee of heaven. Beyond that, we feel that we have the right to enjoy the best that this life has to offer.
For those who have a genuine desire to follow Jesus as He has laid out in His teachings, this blog site will focus upon what Jesus has said and how we are to apply those teachings to our lives. It is more than simply going to Sunday congregational meetings, singing, giving, and hearing a speech. Are you one who is willing to come see what this site will declare?
The word “radical” comes from the word “radix” which means to “cut to the root” such as in having radical surgery to remove a cancer from your body.
The teachings of Jesus are indeed radical because they cut to the root of the problems we humans have in order to remove them from our lives.
This blog site will highlite the revolutionary message of Jesus and how the modern day church has watered it down to be acceptable in our culture. DON’T READ THIS BLOG IF ALL YOU WANT IS A SUGAR COATED GOSPEL!
